Hampton Theatre Company (HTC) is set to present Bruce Norris' hilarious and provoking play, "Clybourne Park" at the Quogue Community Hall. The Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play, which details the story of racism through a simple real estate transaction, opens on Thursday, March 12th, and will run through Sunday, March 29th.

"Clybourne Park" includes two acts, each set 50 years apart, which coincide with Lorraine Hansberry's drama, "A Raisin in the Sun." The first is set in 1959 when community leaders tried to stop a black family from buying a home. The second is set in present day in the same home and neighborhood, now primarily African-American.

The play has been described as a "sharp-witted, sharp-toothed comedy of American uneasiness," by The New York Times' top theater critic, Ben Brantley. He also went on to say that "the very structure of 'Clybourne Park' posits the idea of a nation (and even a world) trapped in a societal purgatory of ineptitude and anxiety."

The production will include four experienced Hampton Theatre Company performers, Matt Conlon, Joe Pallister, Ben Schnickel, and Rebecca Edana, and three newcomers, Juanita Frederick, Shonn McCloud, and Anette Michelle Sanders. HTC's Executive Director Sarah Hunnewell will direct the play, with set design by Peter-Tolin Baker, lighting design by Sebastian Paczynski and costumes by Teresa LeBrun.

Performances take place on Thursdays and Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2:30 p.m.

Quogue Community Hall is located at 125 Jessup Avenue in Quogue. For more information or to reserve tickets, visit www.hamptontheatre.org.

Hampton Luxury Liner
Hampton Luxury Liner was started in 2000 as a more luxurious way to travel from NYC to the Hamptons and back. The clientele quickly grew and over the years Hampton Luxury liner became the preferred method of transportation to the Hamptons and NYC for many living in NYC and the Hamptons that wanted a comfortable and affordable way to travel back and forth. In 2009, HLL was taken over by Classic Coach and things with the liner didn’t change to much for years and the owner there changed the buses to Prevost as opposed to Mercedes Setra Top Class Coaches that have always been a signature of the liner.
