Guitar gods, Eric Johnson and Mike Stern, are teaming up for an irresistible six-string collaboration at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center (WHBPAC) on Friday, November 7, 2014, at 8 p.m.
Just off the 2014 Experience Hendrix tour, an all star Jimi Hendrix tribute concert, Grammy-winning guitarist Eric Johnson is joining fellow guitarist Mike Stern for a progressive jazz and blues concert in the Hamptons.
The platinum-selling Johnson showcases a broad range of influences from blues to country to pop to rock to jazz. Stern, one of the premier jazz-fusion guitarists and composers, has collaborated with an impressive group of musicians including Miles Davis, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Jaco Pastorious, and the Brecker Brothers.
The two guitar icons, who have admired each others work for years, gained a greater appreciation during the recording of their first album together, Eclectic. ” It’s a pretty honest record,” Johnson told Guitar World. “We cut most of the record live and pretty much set everything up in one room.”
Tickets to Eric Johnson and Mike Stern at WHBPAC are $45, $55, and $65.
WHBPAC is located at 76 Main Street in Westhampton Beach. For more information, call 631-288-1500 or visit www.whbpac.org.
