One of the industry’s fastest rising stand-up comedians is making his way to the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday, May 31, 2014. Gabriel Iglesias is best known for his hit series “Gabriel Iglesias Presents: Stand-up Revolution” broadcasted on Comedy Central, but you might also know him from his work on the big screen, including Disney’s animated “Planes,” “Magic Mike,” where he appeared alongside Channing Tatum, and “The Nut Job.”
When he’s not performing, Iglesias says he is, “hanging out with my family and friends so I can hear them give me crap about how they have real jobs…. haters!!!! I love them though. My mom is my biggest fan… even though she still doesn’t get the jokes. Aside from hanging out I love TV, movies, play-station (Madden), going to Vegas, chatting online, meeting new people and sleeping… a lot!”
We all know Iglesias is hilarious, but you might be surprised to find out what he considers one of his best attributes. “Outside of my sense of humor, my patience is [my] number one [quality],” says Iglesias. “I never try to rush things because then they don’t turn out right. I hang out with a bunch of laggers and have yet to snap on them for dragging their feet. Anyone else would have left them behind.”
The comedian’s show, “Fluffy!,” is a mixture of storytelling, parodies, characters and sound effects that bring all his hilarious personal experiences to life. His witty, electrifying and animated comedy style has made him popular among fans of all ages.
Gabriel Iglesias’ “Unity Through Laughter Tour” is stopping at WHBPAC on Saturday, May 31, 8 p.m. Tickets are $110 to $150.
