The Hampton Theatre Company (HTC) is seeking actors for their upcoming performance of Larry Shue's "The Foreigner." HTC is holding open auditions for the comedy on Sunday, January 12, and Monday, January 13, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Quogue Community Hall. The audition is open to both union and non-union actors and readings will be from the script. No monologue or appointment is necessary.
Roles available include Charlie Baker, the main character, an introverted, awkward and (initially) dejected British gentleman who is in his 40's; "Froggy" LeSueur, an audacious and jolly Cockney military man who is 50s+; Reverend David Le, a lovely young minister, who is not what he seems (the role is for men in their 30s to 40s); Catherine Sims, an attractive and rich ex-debutante who is in her twenties; and Ellard Sims, Catherine's simple-minded brother who is also in his twenties.
The play centers around a shy "foreigner" who finds himself on an unexpected adventure in the wilds of rural Georgia.
Rehearsals for "The Foreigner" start on Tuesday, February 4. Opening night is Thursday, March 13, and the play will run through Sunday, March 30 (with a possible extension through Sunday, April 6). Performances are on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons, at the Quogue Community Hall.
The Quogue Community Hall is located at 125 Jessup Avenue. For more information, contact HTC at firstname.lastname@example.org or 631-726-4656.
