Southampton Cultural Center
is holding open auditions for the world premiere of Ilene Beckerman
's "Sex: What She's Really Thinking." The readings are on Sunday, November 10, at 3 p.m. and Monday, November 11, at 6 p.m., at Southampton Cultural Center's Levitas Center for the Arts. Rehearsals will start immediately following casting.
Roles available include Woman (50s, slim, real, experienced but not tough or jaded), Guy 1 (30/40s, tall attractive, desirable, fall guy), Guy 2 (40s/50s an everyman, comic straight man), Girl 1 (20s, attractive, available), Girl 2 (30s, attractive, desirable), Girl 3 (40s, attractive, disappointed), and Mary, Mary (a sassy, provocative version of the Nursery Rhyme character).
The play written by Ilene Beckerman with Michael Disher
, is a humorous look at the thoughts, expectations, and hopes of women in a variety of ages. This the second time the duo are working together. Last year, Beckerman played herself in Delia and Nora Ephron
's "Love, Loss and What I Wore," inspired by Beckerman's book of the same name.
"Sex: What She's Really Thinking" will make its debut at Center Stage at the Southampton Cultural Center on January 9, 2014 and run through January 26, 2014.
