Gene Casey and The Lone Sharks is celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, the band will perform at Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor on Saturday, September 14 at 8 p.m. During the show, front man and founding member Gene Casey will bring past and present members as well as a few special guests on stage.
The Lone Sharks rapidly gained popularity on the Hamptons music scene during the late 80’s, shortly before Bay Street was founded in 1991. Over the years the band has backed-up and/or shared billing for Wanda Jackson, NRBQ, The Who’s John Entwistle, Link Wray, Sleepy LaBeef, Bill Kirchen, The Highway QC’s and Tiny Tim.
“Justified” starring Timothy Olyphant, featured two of Casey’s originals songs during the debut season of the FX Network show in 2010.
The band features Gene Casey on vocals and guitar, Tony Palumbo on bass, Paul Scher on tenor sax, along with Chris Ripley and Stan Mitchell on drums, Andy Burton on piano and organ, Joe Lauro on bass, and Brian Sear on saxophone.
