Does your young actor or actress love Shakespeare? Then enroll them in the Hamptons Shakespeare Festival (HSF) 14th year of Camp Shakespeare August 5 through 9 and August 12 through 16 at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Amagansett.
Since 1999 Camp Shakespeare has been a fun, imaginative, artistic opportunity for kids and teens, ages 8 through 15, to explore theater and Shakespeare. Trained theater educators lead programs in an environment of discovery and cooperation, which includes acting, improvisation, movement, voice, and theatrical arts and crafts. The week long session finishes with a student performance for family and friends.
Hamptons Shakespeare Festival provides cultural and educational programs on the East End. The free outdoor shows have been seen by tens of thousands.
One Camp Shakespeare parent commented, “What I didn’t realize was the extent to which the children would comfortably interact with each other, bonding together as one large group while at the same time having fun with Shakespeare… Their enjoyment and happiness shone through their performances.”
