The Round Table Theatre Company
& Academy, the Hamptons new classical theatre ensemble, is producing its first production of "Macbeth
" on January 11, 2013, at LTV Studios in Wainscott.
Producing "Macbeth" has been a longtime dream of Morgan and Tristan Vaughan, Producing Artistic Director and Artistic Director, respectively, of the company. "We wanted to produce 'Macbeth' since we moved back from L.A.," said Morgan Vaughan. "Producing 'Macbeth' has unique challenges, but amazing rewards."
The play's cast includes acclaimed actors such as Jeff Keogh (Macbeth) from The Shakespeare
Theatre Company's Academy for Classical Acting at the George Washington
University. "His facility with Shakespeare's language and understanding of Macbeth's character is extraordinary," said Tristan Vaughn of the Australian-born actor. Hamptons cast members include Josh Gladstone
, Bonnie Grice
, and Andrew Botsford
The opening night event is also a fundraiser for LTV Studios and for Round Table's season and Shakespeare acting classes and reading workshops at Guild Hall
"This play resonates with people," said Morgan Vaughn. "The themes of ambition and glory and the ends justifying the means are as strong, if not stronger, than in Shakespeare's day."
