Westhampton Beach - WHBPAC's Nancy and Frederick DeMatteis Arts Education Program is proud to present Hudson Valley
Shakespeare Festival's production of "Romeo & Juliet," for ages 11 through 18, on Thursday, April 19 at 9 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Tickets are $12 and are available to the public!
Join the actors from The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival in this modernized telling of the epic tragedy of passionate, star-crossed teenagers overpowered by a love that supersedes social expectations and family loyalties! This production focuses on the story with energy, clarity and invention. Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival distills rather than embellishes the language and action of this masterpiece loved by people of all ages, and the actors challenge themselves and their audience to take a fresh look at what is essential in Shakespeare.
"Romeo & Juliet" is part of
WHBPAC's School Day Performances Series - a curriculum-based, bus-in program for students in grades PreK-12. The program acts as an extension of the classroom, providing educators with direct connections to NYS Learning Standards in a variety of subject areas. Through experiential learning, students are equipped with the tools needed to deal with today's social issues. Performance is 90 minutes plus a brief Q&A.
