Southampton - The Hampton Ballet Theatre School, celebrating five years of dance on the East End,will debut their original spring ballet "Cinderella" on Friday, April 29 at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 30 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 1 at 2 p.m. The performances will be held in the stunning John Drew Theater at
Guild Hall, 158 Main Street in East Hampton. Admission is $20 for adults and $15 for children under 12 years of age. Box seats and group rates are also available.
The magical ballet, "Cinderella," with Prokoviev's poetic score, is choreographed by
Sara Jo Strickland, director of the Hampton Ballet Theatre School with beautiful costumes designed and hand sewn by
Yuka Silvera and lighting design by
Sebastian Paczynski. The performers are all dedicated, trained dancers of the Hampton Ballet Theatre School as well as local community members and guest artists.
This classic fairy tale ballet with poor Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother and the antics of the stepsisters, Prunella and Esmeralda, will captivate audiences of all ages. Everyone will be mesmerized as the transformation of Cinderella from a ragged servant girl to a glamorous princess happens before their very eyes. At last the Prince finally finds the rightful owner of thebeautiful glass slipper and marries his true love for happiness ever after.
