Quogue - The Hampton Theatre Company will hold open auditions for the final production of its 2010 to 2011 season, "The Enchanted April,"
Kane Campbell's delightful romantic comedy about four very different women who rediscover romance on the Italian Riviera of the 1920s, on Sunday, March 27 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday, March 28 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Quogue Community Hall on Jessup Avenue in Quogue. "The Enchanted April" contains roles for six women (five British and one Italian) and three men (British). Both union and non-union actors are invited to attend.
HTC is seeking actors for the roles of Lotty Wilkins (30s-40s), a bright, cheerful and impulsive (if somewhat "blotted out") Hampstead housewife; Rose Arbuthnot (30s-40s), a virtuous, dutiful and lonely Hampstead housewife; Lady Caroline Dester (late 20s-early 30s), a very beautiful and charming, but bored and disillusioned aristocrat; Thomas Briggs (30s-40s), the owner of San Salvatore, the Italian villa rented by the ladies, a gentleman artist, dreamer and idealist; Mellersh Wilkins (40s-50s), Lotty's husband, a comically stuffy, proper and self-important solicitor; Frederick Arbuthnot (aka Ferdinand Arundel) (40s-50s), Rose's husband, the best-selling author of scandalous novels and great admirer of Lady Caroline; and Francesca (50s-60s), the Italian-speaking housekeeper of San Salvatore.
Rehearsals for "The Enchanted April" begin in mid-April, with performances running from May 26 though June 12, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons, at the Quogue Community Hall. HTC Executive Director
Sarah Hunnewell directs.
