On Wednesday, August 19th at 7:30 p.m., The Retreat will present a screening of Producer Amy Ziering and Executive Producers Maria Cuomo Cole and Regina Scully’s significant and astonishing film, The Hunting Ground, at Guild Hall.
“We are excited to welcome Amy, Regina and Maria to open a dialogue about the important topic of sexual assault on college campuses,” said Loretta K. Davis, Executive Director at The Retreat. “It is a timely screening, with students returning to college shortly, and we hope the community will come out to support the event.”
The Hunting Ground covers the complexities surrounding the epidemic of sexual violence on college campuses. The film is an exposé of sexual assault on U.S. campuses, which also takes a look at how institutions cover-up the attacks and the brutal social toll it takes on victims and their families. The Hunting Ground includes the stories of two young women who try to get their college to take action and end up successfully taking on the government instead. “An incendiary, shocking, infuriating masterpiece,” said RogerEbert.com about the film.
The screening will be followed by a conversation with the Ziering, Scully, and Cuomo Cole.
Tickets are $25 and $20 for students with ID. VIP tickets (which include a post-screening champagne reception) are $75.
