Over 30 films for children will be screened in the Parrish Art Museum's Lichtenstein Theater as part of the Museum's collaboration with the New York International Children's Film Festival (NYICFF).

On Saturday, August 2, 2014, films will be shown in three segments: Shorts for Tots, a collection of films for ages 3 to 6 which will be screened from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m.; Short Films One, a collection of films of ages 5 to 10 which will be screened from 1 p.m. until 2:15 p.m.; and Short Films Two, a collection of films for ages 8 to 14 which will be screened from 3 p.m. until 4:15 p.m.

"The NYICFF is the best of the best," said Family and Children's Programs Director Jennifer Duque. "These inspiring shorts illuminate the creative process of animated and documentary filmmaking with entertaining, high quality films for families. Because the filmmakers are from all over the world, children gain an understanding of different cultures and world views, while being thoroughly entertained."

This year's festival includes filmmakers from the U.S., the UK, Russia, Italy, France, Germany, China, Taiwan, Yemen and Bangladesh among others. Films cover a wide variety of topics and themes, including music, art, animals, fantasy and adventure.

Tickets to the screenings are included in the price of Museum Admission, which is $10 for non-members, and free for members, children and students.

The Parrish Art Museum is located at 279 Montauk Highway in Water Mill. For more information, visit parrishart.org.
