Bay Street is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the arrival of The Beatles
in America with a special weekend, from Friday, February 7, through Sunday, February 9, 2014. You can get your share of Beatlemania during "It Was 50 Years Ago Today..." which will include rare film footage of John Lennon
, Paul McCartney
, George Harrison
, and Ringo Starr
as well as tribute performances from Hamptons musicians.

The festivities start at 8 p.m. on Friday with "Legends: The Beatles." Archivist and filmmaker Joe Lauro
will host the evening of film, which will cover The Beatles first known film shot at The Cavern Club in 1962 to their final 1969 "Rooftop" Concert. The documentary also includes covers from Frank Sinatra
, Eartha Kitt
and others music icons.
Saturday features an evening of live music with notable East End performers, who will take on classics from The Beatles. Nancy Atlas
, Joe Delia
, Gene Casey
, Corky Laing, Dawnette Darden, Joe Lauro, Carline Doctorow, Jim Turner
and more will take the stage during "Celebrating The Beatles."
The weekend finishes at 7 p.m. on Sunday evening with "The Beatles on Ed Sullivan
." On the 50th anniversary, Bay Street will screen the original broadcast of the British band's visit to "The Ed Sullivan Show." The evening will also showcase rare footage of The Beatles on their first trip to New York City
, which was filmed hours before the historic broadcast.
