The Second Annual Hamptons Wildlife Conservation Film Festival Announced

East Hampton - The Second Annual Hamptons Wildlife Conservation Film Festival has been announced for the week of September 21 through September 25 in East Hampton and Sag Harbor. The film festival opens on Wednesday, September 21 at the Ross School with screening of selected films from the 2010 event. Films will also be screened at The Ross School on Thursday. Screenings both evenings are 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. A donation is requested for each film screening and 10 percent will be donated to the Ross School scholarship fund.

On Friday, September 23 the film festival moves to the Bay Street Theater.

There is a reception and book signing at 5 p.m. with filmmakers Jon Bowermaster, Marshal Case, Cyril Christo and Marie Wilkinson. Films will be screened that evening between 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The film festival continues on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a Gala Reception on Saturday evening between 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. The film schedule is divided into two-hour increments. Special guests include Celine Cousteau, and Bob Simon from CBS News "60 Minutes." Over 65 international documentary films will be screened over the five-day festival. More than 20 films will be world premieres, guest filmmakers and conservationists will speak throughout the weekend.

Wildlife documentary filmmakers are traveling from across the globe to attend the film festival to speak with the audiences and engage in Q & A sessions. Included are Cousteau from France, Charles Fasano from Hawaii, Kevin Bachar from Pangolin Pictures, Erin Calmes from Keta Films, Marjolein Duermeiyer from the Nature Conservation Films in the Netherlands, Jon Bowermaster from Ocean 8 Films, Marshal Case of Wildlife Trust, Joe Romeiro from 333 Productions, Kathleen Frith from the Harvard School of Medicine, Peter McBride from Colorado and Nick Coburn Phillips will be traveling from this island of Borneo in Malaysia.

All films are superb documentaries providing education and entertainment. There is no film festival like this in the state of New York. Both short and feature wildlife films representing over 20 countries from around the world; make this an international film festival. The Hamptons Wildlife Conservation Film Festival promises to be one of the premiere film events on the East Coast. We hope you will join us in bringing this voice of conservation awareness to the East End.

The Hamptons Wildlife Conservation Film Festival is organized by resident volunteers that include Romany Kramoris, Charlot Taylor, Debbie Klughers, Bonnie Grice, Jewel Fine Morris, Paul Stoutenburgh, Christopher J. Gervais, Brandon Holloman, Cyril Christo and Marie Wilkinson to name a few.

Proceeds will be donated to The Nature Conservancy's Long Island Chapter and the Celine Cousteau Foundation from ticket sales at the Bay Street Theater.
