Montauk - The Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) proudly announces the launch of a new summer series, Summer Sunday Classics, in conjunction with Montauk's
Solé East Resort. HIFF will present a series of classic films on Sunday evenings at Montauk's Solé East Resort, located at 90 Second House Road in Montauk. A casual, summer barbecue and cocktail hour will kick off each Sunday night at 7 p.m. with food and drink available for purchase, and film screenings will begin after sunset. The series is free and open to the general public.
"At HIFF, we strive to seek out interesting partnerships which help showcase our love of film. The Summer Sunday Classics at the Solé East Resort is a perfect fit, enabling us to bring great and interesting films to the film community in the area," says HIFF Executive Director

"Summer Sunday Classics is a program of timeless, beloved films that provide opportunity for movie lovers to enjoy some of the cinema's most memorable moments in the beautiful summer setting of Solé East. Additionally, more than half of the films are appropriate for the whole family," says HIFF Programmer and Special Programs Producer

The program of Summer Sunday Classics at Solé East follows. Three additional films will be announced later in the summer:
• July 10: "The Muppet Movie" (1979), directed by James Frawley. Starring Jim Henson as the voice of Kermit. Family Friendly.
• July 17, July 24 and August 7: To Be Announced!
• August 14: "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" (2009), directed by
Wes Anderson. Starring
George Clooney and
Meryl Streep as the voices of Mr. and Mrs. Fox. Family Friendly.
• August 21: "Big Night" (1996), directed by
Campbell Scott and
Stanley Tucci. Starring
Marc Anthony,
Tony Shalhoub, and
Stanley Tucci.
• August 28: "The Wizard of Oz" (1939), directed by
Victor Fleming. Starring
Judy Garland. Family Friendly.
