The Parrish Art Museum will present "Steven and William Ladd: Mary Queen of the Universe," an exhibition in which the fraternal team will display sculptures, drawings and prints that explore the boundaries of design and fashion, and fine art and craft. The exhibit will be open to the public from Sunday, October 26, 2014 through Monday, January 19, 2015.

The brothers used non-traditional materials, including fabric, belts and beads, to portray memories of their childhood experiences in St. Louis, in which they attended Catholic grade school, Mary Queen of the Universe, which the exhibition is named for.

The show features 24 sculptures, 10 handcrafted artists' books and over 25 drawings and prints and "will be a compelling experience for visitors," according to Parrish Art Museum Director, Terrie Sultan. The core of the exhibit is a series of 12 sculptures, or "landscapes," that each consist of 24 custom-made boxes installed on the walls in individual grids.

Much of their exhibition also focuses of theatrical elements and color. "Each color triggers a story," Steven Ladd said. In past shows, the Ladd brothers have presented their art through performance, and will do so at the Museum's The Artist's View program on Sunday, October 26th. At 11 a.m., the Ladd brothers will take part in a live performance where they will transform one of their largest works, Faith, from its tower formation into a landscape.

The Parrish Art Museum is located at 279 Montauk Highway in Water Mill. For more information, call 631-283-2118 or visit parrishart.org.

Hampton Luxury Liner
Hampton Luxury Liner was started in 2000 as a more luxurious way to travel from NYC to the Hamptons and back. The clientele quickly grew and over the years Hampton Luxury liner became the preferred method of transportation to the Hamptons and NYC for many living in NYC and the Hamptons that wanted a comfortable and affordable way to travel back and forth. In 2009, HLL was taken over by Classic Coach and things with the liner didn’t change to much for years and the owner there changed the buses to Prevost as opposed to Mercedes Setra Top Class Coaches that have always been a signature of the liner.
