Hamptons’ Museums Showcasing Artwork From Students Across The East End

"The Parrish Art Museum's annual Student Exhibition is an explosion of youthful exuberance, limitless imagination, and boundless creativity," said Parrish Museum Director Terrie Sultan. "We are always thrilled to welcome the talented, enthusiastic students from our extended community to show their work in the museum."

The Parrish Art Museum (79 Montauk Highway, Water Mill, 631-283-2118, parrishart.org) 2014 Student Exhibition will debut on Saturday, February 1 and run through Sunday, March 2. Over 1,000 budding artists from Eastern Long Island public, private, parochial, and home schools will take part in the 60-year tradition. The exhibit will include costume design, drawings, paintings in many styles and media, photography, and sculpture.

This year's list of elementary and middle schools include Bridgehampton, The Children's School, Cutchogue East Elementary, East Quogue Elementary, Greenport, Hampton Bays Middle School, Hayground, John M. Marshall Elementary, Mattituck Junior High, New Suffolk, Our Lady of Mercy, Our Lady of the Hamptons, Oysterponds Union Free School District, Peconic Community School, Raynor Country Day School, Ross Lower and Middle Schools, Sag Harbor Elementary, Southampton Elementary, Southampton Intermediate, Southampton Montessori, Suffolk County Homeschoolers, and the Tuckahoe Common School

Participating high schools are Bellport, Bishop McGann Mercy, Bridgehampton, Centereach, East Hampton, Greenport, Hampton Bays, Mattituck, Pierson, Ross Upper School, Southampton, Westhampton Beach, and William Floyd.

The Parrish Art Museum isn't the only Hamptons' museum which will host a student exhibition this winter.

Currently on display at Guild Hall (158 Main Street, East Hampton, 631-324-0806, www.guildhall.org) is the Annual Student Art Festival Part I, Grades K through 8, which will be on view through Sunday, February 23. Admire artwork from elementary and middle schools across the East End.

Starting Saturday, March 8, through Sunday, April 20, a second exhibit featuring grades 9 through 12 will be on display. Admission to both are free.
