The friendships and dialogs that defined The Club's lively, convivial, and contentious atmosphere are the subject of this conversation, which will also treat such iconic gathering spaces for artists as the Cedar Tavern. The significance of these friendship and mutual learning environments will be discussed, as will the gestalt of the New York School.

Edgar is a widely exhibited painter and was for many years a regular contributor to ArtNews and other publications. She lives in New York City and East Hampton. Her late husband, artist Phillip Pavia, was the co-founder of The Club, and its "tutelary host." Edgar edited "Club Without Walls" from detailed notes and histories relayed to her by her husband, who had begun the book but did not finish it.

The Harmony Game: The Making Of Bridge Over Troubled Water To Screen At Parrish During Limited Theatrical Release

Merging Pictures and Legacy Recordings have partnered to present the U.S. theatrical premiere of "The Harmony Game: The Making of Bridge Over Troubled Water," a new documentary on the creation of the classic, Grammy Award-winning, 1970 album. The film features interviews with Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, as well as their collaborators from the period.

"The Harmony Game," which celebrates Simon & Garfunkel's crowning masterpiece, will screen at the Parrish Art Museum on Sunday, March 13, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 for Parrish members, $7 for nonmembers. The film is being released in March as part of Bridge Over Troubled Water: 40th Anniversary Edition. The deluxe CD+DVD set from Columbia/Legacy (a division of Sony Music Entertainment) includes the original 11-song album and the new feature-length documentary "The Harmony Game," directed by Jennifer LeBeau. Also included is the never-before-commercially-available 1969 TV special, "Songs of America," directed by Charles Grodin.

"The Harmony Game" will have a limited U.S. theatrical run through February and March. Advanced copies of the 40th Anniversary CD+DVD will be given as raffle prizes at every screening before becoming available at physical and digital retail outlets on March 8.

"The Harmony Game" tells the story behind Simon and Garfunkel's last studio album "Bridge Over Troubled Water" whose legacy is shrouded in rock n' roll mythology with legendary tales of inspiration, innovation, and separation. The album won the Grammy for Best Album of the Year, and the title song won Best Record and Best Song of the Year.

Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel share the journey in their own words and reflect back on its impact 40 years later. Also featured in the documentary are several of the duo's collaborators from the period: Roy Halee (co-producer and engineer), Hal Blaine (drums), Joe Osborn (bass guitar), Jimmie Haskell (arranger), Mort Lewis (manager), and actor Charles Grodin, director of "Songs Of America," the candid, behind-the-scenes look at Simon & Garfunkel at work on "Bridge Over Troubled Water," which aired on CBS in November 1969 and has not been available on VHS or DVD since. "The Harmony Game" includes scenes from "Songs Of America."
