Workshop
Rug Hooking with Gail Horton,
Rogers Mansion, 17 Meeting House Lane, Southampton. Every Tuesday, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., $150 members, $190 non-members. Join us for a 10-week fall rug hooking class and design and hook a game board - Parchesi, Monoploy, Chutes and Ladders, Checkers, etc., all form the basis of combining geometric and pictorial designs to create a unique and useful work of art as well as a terrific gift for a very special person. Beginning students are welcome and will learn the skills of rug hooking on a sampler. Beginners should identify themselves when registering. There is a $35 materials fee for beginners due the first night of class.
1903 Hildreth's General Store Opens At The Rogers Mansion
The Hildreth's General Store committee on the steps of the new 1903 Store located at the Rogers Mansion, a property of the Southampton Historical Museums and Research Center. The store will feature dry goods found at Hildreth's from 1903, the year electricity first came to Southampton.
Children's Program
Holiday Workshops for Kids at Rogers Mansion, Saturdays, December 4, December 11 and December 18; 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon, $5 per child. For children ages seven to 12 years old. Hands-on learning of traditional holiday crafts. Space is limited, call 631-283-2494 to register.
Family Program
Holiday Caroling - Start at the Rogers Memorial Library, Morris Meeting Room, Windmill Lane and finish at the Rogers Mansion on Thursday, December 9, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Free. Snow or shine, we'll meet at 2 p.m. sharp in the Rogers Memorial Library's Morris Meeting Room and spend a half hour practicing. Then set off singing around the village, ending up at the Southampton Historical Museum, where we'll warm up with hot chocolate and cookies, visit with each other and have a chance to browse the museum's great gift shop. Reservations appreciated.
