"Since this is the very first time we've done anything like this before, we are considering this day a beta test of sorts," explained Bay Street Executive Director Tracy Mitchell about the upcoming tournament. "The 3 CO committee was charged with helping us expand on the notion that the 'Center for the Arts that has a little something for everyone,' and so a new teen or kids program that wasn't being offered on the East End seemed like an interesting concept," Mitchell continued. "And, this is exactly the kind of programming we had hoped would arise from our work together."

On Sunday, April 12th from 2 pm to 4 p.m., Bay Street Theater is holding its debut Minecraft Adventures at Bay Street, hosted by Mason Cohen, an 8th grader at Pierson Middle School, and Miller Croke, an 8th grader at Southampton Middle School. The tech savvy teens are imaginative storytellers, who through the game have been creating worlds together and hosting private Minecraft events over the past two years.

The inaugural Bay Street Minecraft event is open to ten participants, who will join forces via laptop, and will be broadcast on Bay Street's big screen as a character. Gamers will explore a completely custom Minecraft expedition in a one-of-a-kind world created just for Bay Street Theater. Participants will battle to complete multiple tasks and challenges, including 'farming, mining and exploring,' all as the audience watches. Gamers must bring their own fully charged laptop, they must be at least 11-years-old, and should have previous experience playing in a multitude of Minecraft environments. Attendees must also have a Minecraft account and have previously downloaded a game launcher onto their laptop. Bay Street encourages parents, siblings, and friends to come and watch the excitement as they learn a little more about Minecraft mania.

While at the moment, this is the only Minecraft afternoon planned at Bay Street, a sequel is definitely a possibility. "If it's a success, we will certainly look to expand it to other age groups and 'worlds'—as I'm told there are plenty still to explore," noted Mitchell.

To reserve a spot call the Bay Street Theater Box Office at 631-725-9500 or email Samantha Young at syoung@baystreet.org.

A suggested donation of $10 per participant will be requested.

Bay Street Theater is located at 1 Bay Street in Sag Harbor. For more information, visit www.baystreet.org.

Hampton Luxury Liner
Hampton Luxury Liner was started in 2000 as a more luxurious way to travel from NYC to the Hamptons and back. The clientele quickly grew and over the years Hampton Luxury liner became the preferred method of transportation to the Hamptons and NYC for many living in NYC and the Hamptons that wanted a comfortable and affordable way to travel back and forth. In 2009, HLL was taken over by Classic Coach and things with the liner didn’t change to much for years and the owner there changed the buses to Prevost as opposed to Mercedes Setra Top Class Coaches that have always been a signature of the liner.
