Sag Harbor - Bay Street Theatre celebrated the kickoff to its 20th Season with a Spring Benefit on April 3. The event was themed around
Truman Capote, who is the subject of the first Mainstage Show beginning May 31 entitled "TRU," starring SNL'S
Darrell Hammond; directed by
Judith Ivey. The event started with a brunch with Hammond at The
American Hotel, followed by a champagne toast, raffles, piano music back at Bay Street Theatre and the screening of "Breakfast At Tiffany's," based on the book by Truman Capote. One lucky attendee won the raffle for a new silver beaded Tiffany & Co. necklace donated by a patron for the event. There was also a contest for the best Audrey Hepburn costume.
The brunch was generously underwritten by an anonymous donor so all proceeds for this event benefited Bay Street Theatre.
