Westhampton Beach - Three-time Grammy Award winning Latin rockers
Los Lobos will perform at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Friday, November 13 at 8 p.m. in the Mollie Parnis Auditorium.
Los Lobos' music has been influenced by rock n' roll, Tex-Mex, country, folk, R&B and the blues. Probably best known for their meg-hit "La Bamba," they continue to mix up musical styles, pushing the boundaries of their sound, while remaining magnificently gritty and gracefully rooted in their Latin origins. Whether delivering ballads or outlaw tales this awesome band, with their superb musicianship, will rock the house!
Many musical groups are eclectic, but few have been as unpredictable and successful as Los Lobos. Since they began as Los Lobos Del Este Los Angeles in 1973, they have evolved into a respected artistic entity searching for themes and topics that are an interpretive pulse of our times. They've shared the stage with acts as varied as
Bob Dylan,
The Clash, and
U2 and have received tremendous critical acclaim – from their major label debut, "How Will the Wolf Survive?" (which made
Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time) to their most recent effort, "The Town and The City."
At this stage in their illustrious career, a new album by the East Los Angeles rock band Los Lobos is a highly anticipated event. Celebrating 36 years together, the band is now marking a new milestone with the commencement work on their 18th record, the highly anticipated, still unnamed debut album on Shout! Factory.
On October 13, Los Lobos performed at the White House in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month. And on October 27, they released a new family album, "Los Lobos Goes Disney," featuring Disney classics performed in a way only Los Lobos can, mixing their brilliant eclectic music backgrounds with old time Disney favorites.
