Westhampton Beach - Multi-Grammy Award-winning blues guitar virtuoso and vocalist Keb' Mo' will return to the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Sunday, November 1 at 8 p.m. in the Mollie Parnis Auditorium. Opening for Keb' Mo' is soulful newcomer Kristina Train. Tickets are $115, $95, $75.

With a voice that is pure and rich, Keb' Mo's musical styling embraces pop, rock, folk, and jazz while still being deeply rooted in the tradition of the Mississippi blues. A masterful storyteller, his music is full of soul, human experience and emotion.

Keb' Mo' (slang for Kevin Moore) was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles where he learned to play guitar at age 12. He played electric guitar with numerous jazz, Top 40, and R&B bands in the 1970's an 1980s and was recruited to start recording with the late blues violinist Papa John Creach, known for his work with the Jefferson Starship and Hot Tuna.

In 1989 Keb' Mo' first heard the music of the influential Delta blues great Robert Johnson and immediately felt a powerful connection. Keb' Mo' began studying the recordings of Johnson, along with other prolific songwriters of the era, when he landed a role as a Delta bluesman in a local theatre troupe's production called Rabbit's Foot. He later portrayed Johnson in the documentary film, "Can't You Hear the Wind Howl?"

Keb' Mo's self-titled debut solo album won him a W.C. Handy Award for Best Country/Acoustic Blues Album of the Year. The album stayed on blues charts for more than a year while his follow-up album, "Just Like You," garnered him a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album in 1997. His 1998 album "Slow Down" proved another triumph, helping him win back-to-back W.C. Handy Awards for Acoustic Blues Artist of the Year in 1997 and 1998 as well as a second Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album in 1999. "Keep It Simple" earned him a third Grammy Award in 2005, again in the contemporary blues genre. Keb' Mo' unveiled his most recent album and eighth studio set, "Suitcase," in the summer of 2006. The record, took the top spot of Billboard's Top Blues Albums chart upon its release. In January, Keb' Mo' debuted the single "A Brand New America" in conjunction with President Barack Obama's inauguration. Keb' Mo's television appearances include "The Late Show With David Letterman," "Sessions at West 54th" and "Touched By An Angel." Keb' Mo' also released "Big Wide Grin," a children's album featuring many songs from Keb' Mo's own childhood, along with some newer children's songs and some by Keb' Mo' himself.

Keb' Mo' is a modern day ambassador of acoustic blues. With his charismatic performing style and fresh, insightful songs, he has expanded the genre in new directions and captured new audiences for a music both evocative and timeless.
