The Wamponamon Masonic Music Series has launched its third season of wonderful live music in Sag Harbor. The series was started in 2016 by Brother Beres when he was approached by local musicians stating that there was no venues that let them play original music. Right off the bat it was successful and after the death of Brother Beres, the series continues through the supervision of Lodge Master Jemille Charlton and Past Master Patrick McErlean. Anthony Lombardo credits the addition of Brother Joseph Haines to the Lodge as a “splendid” new contact to the music.
Mr. Lombardo also said, “Mr. Cal Stewart, a non-Mason, has been with the Series since the beginning and has been the technician to produce the wonderful sound in the Lodge Room.”
The beauty of the Wamponamon Masonic Music Series is that’s it is a real group effort with all the Lodge Brothers and friends of the Lodge working as volunteers to make the performances a success.
“The performers have been a big asset to the series, because they see this as a way to contribute to the community. They have donated equipment and time to the series,” Mr. Lombardo relayed. “The admission to the shows are $20 and the money raised goes to local charities, such as two college scholarships to Pierson graduates, the local food bank, and other charities and resident in need.”
“As Freemasons, our goals are to send a message of peace, harmony and a sense of community to Sag Harbor and the East End by setting an example,” Mr. Lombardo concluded.
