On Friday, April 7, the third annual Songwriters Share Concert Series will continue with Fred Raimondo, and a few special guests, who will be playing in support of The Retreat. Founded by Nancy Remkus, the seven concert series brings together local talent who each have chosen a local non-profit that proceeds from their show will benefit. Raimondo's performance will take place at Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse of the South Fork in Bridgehampton at 8 p.m.

"I will be joined by Sarah Green, Jean Schroeder and Paul Brokaw to perform a Benefit Concert for The Retreat," noted Raimondo. "Steve Skolberg will be performing an opening set."

The Southampton-based musician has performed at festivals, clubs and universities throughout the Northeast and has shared the stage with Taj Mahal, Jorma Kaukonen, Donovan, The Marshal Tucker Band, Maria Muldar, the late Rick Danko and Joe Ely.

"Songwriter Fred Raimondo has a passion for storytelling," shared Remkus. "His songs are visual and have a narrative style."

His deeply personal lyrics easily resonate with listeners. "Singer/songwriter Fred Raimondo will pull at your heart strings," added Loretta K. Davis, Executive Director of The Retreat. "He writes his own lyrics that are emotional, personal and so real and sings and plays with so much feeling."

Attendees will be treated to catchy old favorites, as well as a few new tunes. "I will be performing songs from Stories From The Dark Heart Tavern as well as some new songs from my CD Reflections of Little Flower which will be released this spring."

Locally, he's been a frequent guest at Songwriter's Share, Homegrown Music Cafe, Underground Sound at 230 Down, Nancy Atlas' Songwriters In The Round, Original Voices at The Vail, and Cynthia Daniel's Crossroads Music Live.

"Please come out and support local original music that helps to benefit our community," added Raimondo. "All proceeds from the show and CD sales go to The Retreat."

Following the performance, guests are invited to a complimentary reception where they can chat with the featured musicians.

The Retreat is the East End's sole domestic violence agency. In 2016 they helped 6,625 clients. The East Hampton-based organization's mission is to "provide safety, shelter and support for victims of domestic abuse and to break the cycle of family violence." The Retreat offers direct services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as their families through a 24-hour bilingual hotline, counseling, legal advocacy, prevention education, and emergency shelter.

"He has a big place in his heart for The Retreat's children and families and his songs will resonate with you - broken hearts, lonely hearts, memories of friends and lovers," shared Davis. "His music will move you no doubt."

After Raimondo's concert, Gene Casey will take the stage in support of East End Hospice on Friday, May 5th and the series will wrap up with Dan Koontz, who will be playing for Therapeutic Riding Center of the East End on Friday, June 2nd.

Admission to Songwriters Share is $15 concert.

Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse of the South Fork is located at 977 Sag Harbor/Bridgehampton Turnpike in Bridgehampton.

Hampton Luxury Liner
Hampton Luxury Liner was started in 2000 as a more luxurious way to travel from NYC to the Hamptons and back. The clientele quickly grew and over the years Hampton Luxury liner became the preferred method of transportation to the Hamptons and NYC for many living in NYC and the Hamptons that wanted a comfortable and affordable way to travel back and forth. In 2009, HLL was taken over by Classic Coach and things with the liner didnít change to much for years and the owner there changed the buses to Prevost as opposed to Mercedes Setra Top Class Coaches that have always been a signature of the liner.
