New York City-based singer and songwriter, Jennifer Lee Snowden, will be performing live during a very special evening at Southampton Arts Center in Southampton. The exciting event will take place on Saturday, November 5th at 7 p.m.
The musician, who was born and raised in Michigan, has always had a passion for music, which began when she was a toddler at just 2-years-old. Her mother, grandmother and music teachers supported her every step of the way. After being gifted Gloria Estefan’s Cuts Both Ways – her first cassette tape – Snowden decided that she wanted to be a recording artist when she grew up.
Snowden graduated from Northwestern University, where she continued her training throughout school. Since then, she has toured the world performing her spectacular talent and visited Chicago, New York, France, and even Australia and Fiji to perform. Recently, she opened for Norah Jones’ band, Puss n’ Boots, at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Ohio.
“I am passionate about art in all of its forms and providing a platform for artists to showcase their talents,” noted Snowden on her website. “I have made it my mission to cultivate creativity and to provide more places for it to thrive.”
Her first album, In My Own Company, earned critical acclaim among the jazz community. Snowden’s talents include a broad range of styles and tastes, creating a unique sound and style. Her next album will feature indie/pop tunes and is expected to be released in early 2017.
“We are delighted to add another distinct musical event to our fall roster,” Amy Kirwin, Center Director of Programs, remarked. “Jennifer has a truly unique sound that will be a treat to all who attend.”
