Howard University Gospel Choir To Perform At The Bridgehampton Child Care And Recreational Center Benefit
On Saturday, September 10th, join the Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons for a benefit concert featuring Howard University Gospel Choir that supports the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center.
"The Center needs to raise $300,000 annually to support their current programming," remarked Debra McEneaney, Partner of HOPEWORKS. "Local business support is critical to our families and kids. The Center is a lifeline for working families!"
The Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center was founded after a tragedy in 1949 when a fire killed two children in a local migrant camp. It became, what many believe to be, the first migrant childcare center in the country.
The Center serves lower income families and children of the East End with educational and recreational programs and support. Over 150 families come to the Center annually. There are also college counseling and SAT prep courses available. The Parrish Art Museum
and the Watermill Center
have partnered with the Center to enhance the creative skills of the kids.
The performance at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons will serve as a special tribute to the heroes of 9/11 by the Center Kids. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. and the concert will begin at 3 p.m. Tickets are $35 for general seating; $45 at the door; or $75 - which includes a wine and cheese reception prior to the concert at 1:30 p.m. with an early seating option. The afternoon will also feature a silent auction.
The Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons is located at 111 St. Andrews Road in Southampton. Tickets are available at www.bhccrc.org or by contacting Debra McEneaney at email@example.com.
