The Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill will kick-off Jazz en Plein Air and Sounds of Summer, the Museum's summer concert series, over Memorial Day weekend. The evenings will feature live performances by accomplished artists, picture-perfect sunset views, and delicious food and drinks from the Golden Pear Café.

"Our summer music program brings together performers of diverse musical persuasions and encourages all ages to dance, dine, socialize or just enjoy the fresh air and the cool tunes," remarked Century Arts Foundation Curator of Special Projects, Andrea Grover. "It's a festive and fun way to kick-off the weekend."

Jazz en Plein Air will be held the last Friday in May, June, July, and August, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This year's lineup includes Emilio Solla Tango Jazz Quarter (May 27th), Lafayette Harris, Jr. (June 24th), Nilson Matta (July 29th), and The Philippe Lemm Trio (August 26th).

The Parrish Art Museum is thrilled to welcome Emilio Solla during the summer concert series. Despite his busy touring schedule throughout Europe, Japan, the U.S. and Latin America, the talented musician will bring his show stopping stylings to the Hamptons. His music is a unique combination of tango, folk, jazz and other contemporary music variations. Solla has performed in some of the most prominent jazz venues and festivals, including Bim Huis, Amsterdam; the Blue Note and Lincoln Center, New York; Jazz in Marciac, France; and Fasching, Stockholm.

Sounds of Summer will take place the first Friday of the month, also from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Participating artists include The HooDoo Loungers (June 3rd), Mambo Loco (July 1st), Winston Irie (August 5th), and Bluegrass & BBW with the Edith & Bennett Band (September 2nd).

All attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to the outdoor series, which takes place on the Mildred C. Brinn Terrace and Bonnie Comley and Stewart F. Lane Special Events Lawn. The Golden Pear Café's food and beverages will be available for sale at the performances as well. All concerts are free with Museum admission and do not require reservations in advance.

The Parrish Art Museum is located at 279 Montauk Highway in Water Mill. For more information, call 631-283-2118 or visit parrishart.org.
