"Imagine yourself on a beautiful summer night in the serene setting of Agawam Park or gorgeous Coopers Beach with your friends or family enjoying a picnic surrounded by good music at no charge," asked Kirsten Lonnie, Executive Director of the Southampton Cultural Center. "How can you beat that?"

Since 1985, the Southampton Cultural Center has hosted an eclectic array of artists during their Summer Concert Series in Agawam Park and Coopers Beach. The widely popular series is back this summer for its 30th year and will feature your favorite bands as well as some fresh faces from around the Hamptons area.

Concerts are on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., aside from a few Saturday and Tuesday dates, and will take place at either Agawam Park or Coopers Beach in Southampton. As always, the performances are family-friendly and free of charge.

The series kicks off on Wednesday, July 1st at Coopers Beach with the Lone Sharks, a staple of the Hamptons music scene since the late 1990s.

Enjoy a nice picnic and watch the sunset over Agawam Lake on Wednesday, July 8th when Danza Nova, the virtuoso world music quintet, comes to Agawam Park for the second concert in the series. Wednesday, July 15th's concert will also take place at Agawam Park. Vocalist and bandleader Jerry Costanzo will bring his jazzy set to the summer stage.

The series will return to Coopers Beach on Wednesday, July 22nd with New Life Crisis, a "no set list" band that prides itself on tailoring their set to each unique audience.

On Wednesday, July 29th, Vanessa Park will bring the series back to Agawam Park. Center Stage Songs at Sunset will perform cherished Broadway melodies on Saturday, August 1st, also at Agawam Park. On Wednesday, August 5th, the Adlib Steel Orchestra will fill Agawam Park with the sweet sounds of calypso music.

Just Sixties will combine 60s facts and history with the musical cultural of the decade on Wednesday, August 12th at Coopers Beach. Their shows feature audio clips, trivia quizzes, and an accompanying narration highlighting fads, culture, and current events from the 60s.

Indie singer/songwriter Nancy Atlas will take the Agawam Park stage on Tuesday, August 18th. Having opened for Elvis Costello and Jimmy Buffett, Nancy is sure to deliver a riveting performance. On Wednesday, August 19th, the New Orleans-inspired, nine piece band, HooDoo Loungers, will perform their blend of original music and re-arranged New Orleans classics on the Agawam stage, which is sure to please young and old audience members alike. The series continues with Mamboloco on Wednesday, August 26th, who will bring the best of "Old School" Latin and Latin Jazz music to the Agawam Park audience. The series wraps up at Agawam with Rhonda Denet, a New York-based jazz/soul vocalist, on Wednesday, September 2nd.
