The Dory is proud to present the First Annual Shelter Island Jazzfest, which begins on Monday, August 18th and runs through Saturday, August 23rd. The festival boasts a fantastically talented line up filled with well-known jazz legends juxtaposed with young, up and coming artists.
“We are thrilled to have such a diverse and fantastic line up for what we hope will be an annual Jazz event on the East End,” said Jack Kiffer, owner of The Dory.
Shelter Island Jazzfest kicks off on Monday August 18th, with a screening of “Jazz in the Movies,” with Joe Lauro at 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 19th features back to back performances from Freddy Cole at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Lilly Merat will open. On Wednesday August 20th, Freddy Cole returns for a double dose at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., this time with the Dennis Reffelock Jazz Duo as an opening act. On Thursday, August 21st, the Hoodoo Loungers will be rocking at 7:30 p.m. and again at 9:30 p.m. Come on down to see Claes Brondal’s Jazz/Soul Express on Friday, August 22nd at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. World renowned jazz pianist, Judy Carmichael is playing with Chris Flory (on the guitar) on Saturday, August 23rd at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Last but not least, enjoy Jazz and the Ram’s Head Inn with Jane Hastay, Peter Martin Weiss and Friends on Sunday, August 24th from 6 to 10 p.m.
