"Music is a feeling," explained Oliver Mtukudzi, who along with The Black Spirits is performing at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center. "If the music can touch your heart, you can always find out what the song is talking about."

While he performs in his native language, Mtukudzi who is from Africa has gained quite a following which spans worldwide during his nearly 40 year career. The talented singer didn't set out to be a musician. "It's not a career to me. I'm just doing me," said Mtukudzi. "I enjoy playing music. I just found myself doing that."

Known for a unique blend between pan-African influences and cosmopolitan pop, his latest album Sarawoga was inspired by the people. After seeing the upcoming concert at WHBPAC, he hopes the show leaves listeners with a little bit of insight about his culture. "They get inspiration; they get to know about the other side of the world," noted Mtukudzi.

Oliver Mtukudzi & The Black Spirits are performing at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Sunday, March 9, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25.

WHBPAC is located at 76 Main Street in Westhampton Beach. For more information call 631-288-1500 or visit www.whbpac.org.

Hampton Luxury Liner
Hampton Luxury Liner was started in 2000 as a more luxurious way to travel from NYC to the Hamptons and back. The clientele quickly grew and over the years Hampton Luxury liner became the preferred method of transportation to the Hamptons and NYC for many living in NYC and the Hamptons that wanted a comfortable and affordable way to travel back and forth. In 2009, HLL was taken over by Classic Coach and things with the liner didnít change to much for years and the owner there changed the buses to Prevost as opposed to Mercedes Setra Top Class Coaches that have always been a signature of the liner.
