Whether looking for a day full of art that can continue on into the evening, or just looking for a relaxing time to kick back in the grass and enjoy some tunes, Hampton's very own Parrish Art Museum and Café is sure to find a melody for any music lover.

The Parrish Art Museum Café by Art of Eating invites you to grab a seat in their covered terrace or to relax on the event lawn and enjoy a variety of music through out the summer.

Kicking off the Sounds of Summer series on Friday, May 24, native-Long Islander DJ Blind Prophet will be spinning on the terrace from 6 to 8 p.m., his style covering a wide variety from Garage and House to Hip-Hop and Dubstep. Prophet has spun all over the world, playing alongside some of the industries most respected artists.

Appearing on the terrace for the first time, on Friday, June 14, DJ Mister Lama returns to the Parrish to spin a scramble from the golden trio of decades—the '60s, '70s, and '80s. Lama is the host of "Other Music For Uplifting Gormandizers" on WUSB 90.1, Stony Brook University, as well as having hosted other various radio shows around the country.

Jazz en Plein Air performances will begin with New York-based, Colombian-born Hector Martignon and his Foreign Affair Quartet on Friday, May 31, at 5 p.m.

Martignon has composed, orchestrated, produced, performed, and recorded music in a wide spectrum of genres, from classical and crossover, to jazz and world music, to rock and pop, with two of his seven albums being nominated for Grammy Awards. He has been featured in one hundred albums, three Broadway Musicals (including Paul Simon's "Capeman") and multiple screen and theater projects. He arranged and performed parts of the score for Ang Lee's Oscar-nominated movie "Eat, Drink, Man, Woman". He has written symphonic orchestrations that have been performed and recorded by the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as compositions. Martignon is currently working on a Big Band + String Quartet project.

"The Jazz en Plein Air" performances will continue on Fridays, June 28, July 26, and Aug. 30, all from 5 to 8 p.m. "Jazz en Plain Air" is made possible with support from Bridgehampton National Bank, Brooks Brothers, Christopher LaGuardia Landscape Architects, Farrell Fritz, and Kathryn Markel Fine Arts.

The final musical series contribution to will be "East End or Busk", a series that will feature New York Street Performers or "buskes." They will be performing on the museums' subway platform-esk wrap around terrace. The series kicks of Saturday, June 22, from 12 to 3 p.m with a variety of underground performers. The series continues on the terrace on Fridays, July 5, featuring Sister Monk and August 2, featuring Lorenzo Laroc, and concluding on Friday, September 6, with "Bluegrass & BBQ", featuring delicious barbecue offerings from the café while The Ebony Hillbillies, one of the last black string bands in the U.S., entertain guests with their rootsy, homegrown style of all-American music. All Friday night concerts will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

All terrace performances are free with the museum admission of $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and free for members, children, and students.

The Parrish Art Museum is located at 279 Montauk Highway in Water Mill. For more information call 631-283-2118 or visit parrishart.org.

Hampton Luxury Liner
Hampton Luxury Liner was started in 2000 as a more luxurious way to travel from NYC to the Hamptons and back. The clientele quickly grew and over the years Hampton Luxury liner became the preferred method of transportation to the Hamptons and NYC for many living in NYC and the Hamptons that wanted a comfortable and affordable way to travel back and forth. In 2009, HLL was taken over by Classic Coach and things with the liner didn’t change to much for years and the owner there changed the buses to Prevost as opposed to Mercedes Setra Top Class Coaches that have always been a signature of the liner.
