East Hampton - Joe Augustine is a designated "Steinway Artist" (an international appointment and life-long honor) and the greatest accolade a pianist can receive. Included on the Steinway Artist roster are such immortals as George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter and Duke Ellington. Today's Steinway Artists include Herbie Hancock, Billy Taylor, Peter Nero, and Billy Joel.

Augustine's musical career spans over 40 years performing from sophisticated jazz clubs - to the concert stage - to the recording studio. He has recorded 23 CD's with five national labels and enjoyed "top 5" status on the Gavin Jazz Chart for 15 weeks.

His music can be heard on the soundtrack to the hit show "Criminal Minds" on CBS-TV.

Joe will be accompanied by Ed Howard on bass and Warren Odze on drums.

Howard has recorded and performed with the brilliant drummer, Roy Haynes, tenor saxophonist, Clifford Jordan and the great guitarist, Pat Metheny. Howard has also performed with Herbie Hancock at the St. Lucia Jazz Festival and with Wayne Shorter at the San Francisco Jazz Festival. For three years, he performed with the legendary singer/pianist Shirley Horn and has recorded two CD's with her. Ed is currently touring and recording with Grammy nominated singer/pianist Karrin Allyson.

Odze has recorded and performed with such artists as Judy Collins, Peter Allen, Audra MacDonald, Kenny Rankin, Art Garfunkel, Rod Stewart and the recent Guild Hall Barbara Cook concert. He was also the drummer on "The Dick Cavett Show" and has performed at the annual Tony Awards on Broadway. Odze's Broadway orchestra credits include "The Life," "Seussical," "Thoroughly Modern Millie," and, currently, with "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert."

The Joe Augustine Trio will be making their East Hampton debut at The John Drew Theater at Guild Hall in East Hampton, Saturday, September 17 at 8 p.m. $20 special admission tickets available at Theatremania's website or by calling 866-811-4111.
