Westhampton Beach - Multiple award winning singer, songwriter and guitarist
Richard Thompson will perform a solo acoustic show at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Sunday, September 4 at 8:30 p.m.

Bonnie Raitt, and others have recorded his work. With artfully shaped material that seamlessly and expressively integrates traditional and contemporary modes, Thompson is consistently extolled as a dazzling live performer. Among the most distinctive of guitar virtuosos,
Rolling Stone Magazine hails him as "a perennial dark-horse contender for the title of greatest living rock guitarist." This Grammy nominated musician is consistently extolled as a dazzling live performer.
Thompson is a recipient of BBC's Lifetime Achievement Award and one of
Rolling Stone Magazine's Top 20 Guitarists of All Time. In 2010 Thompson was appointed Artistic Director of London's prestigious Meltdown Festival at South Bank Centre, and received the Mojo Les Paul Award. His live-tour CD "Dream Attic" received a 2011 Grammy nod and for his service to music, Thompson was named on the Queen's 2011 New Year Honours List as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
