Westhampton Beach - Grammy Award-winning vocalist
Steve Tyrell will return to the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Sunday, July 17 at 8:30 p.m. celebrating his latest album, "I'll Take Romance."
The talented and charming Tyrell is truly a renaissance man. In his four and a half decades in the music business, he has achieved great success reinventing standards for artists like
Rod Stewart and
Diana Ross. He first made a splash in the comedy film "Father of The Bride" which paved the way for a string of successful albums and hits like "Crush On You" and "The Sunny Side of The Street."
Tyrell's performance will include new songs from his latest album "I'll Take Romance." Some Bacharach tunes from the "Back to Bacharach" album, plus other music from his previous CDs. He reinterprets classic American standards with a voice full of warmth and character, emphasizing the Great American Songbook, which Tyrell called "the greatest music America has ever made."
