Bridgehampton - Bridgehampton Historical Society's second "Parlor Series" event will showcase jazzy Parisian bistro tunes performed by musicians
Rebecca Dorsey (chanteuse),
Stephanie Mocilan (violinist),
Peter Weiss (bass) and
Jane Hastay (pianist). This is the fourth time this jazz program will be presented on Long Island and raves have ensued. Don't miss this event! It is sure to be sold out with standing room only. To be held on Saturday, January 29.
Dorsey, a favorite on the fund-raising and celebrity circuit, was a featured performer during the
Hilary Clinton campaign. She has also opened for
Tony Bennett and
Freddie Cole. Hastay has produced many concerts and is currently the director of music and organist at St. Therese of Lisieux Church in Montauk. In addition to her freelancing as a pianist/vocalist she frequently acts as musical director in cabaret shows and theatrical productions including
Stephen Sondheim's "Merrily We Roll Along" at the Southampton Cultural Center. Bassist Weiss was a long time member of the
Etta Jones/Houston Person Quintet and has recorded on over 40 CDs as well as performing for the Broadway shows "Ain't Misbehavin'" and "Phantom of the Opera." Violinist Mocilan has performed for
Queen Elizabeth and U.S. Presidents
Gerald Ford,
Jimmy Carter,
Ronald Reagan, and
George Bush, Sr.
