Westhampton Beach - The world's disco icons,
Village People, will perform at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday, August 7 at 8:30 p.m. in the Mollie Parnis Auditorium.
Synonymous with dance music, energetic choreography and outrageous fun, Village People will be the perfect mid-summer tonic! Flash back to those wild and wonderful 1970s and come ready to dance. With their universal appeal and string of hits including "Macho Man," "In the Navy," "YMCA," and "Go West," Village People are as lighthearted and entertaining as it gets!
Over the past few years, Village People have performed a full schedule of festivals, universities, public concerts and casinos throughout the United States as well as Canada, Brazil, France, South Africa, Finland, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Romania and Poland. They were recently seen on Fox's "
Wendy Williams Show," NBC's "Singing Bee" with
Joey Fatone and in the new American Express TV commercial with
Ellen Degeneres and
Beyonce. In 2008, Village People received a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, between Liberace and Betty Grable. The Guiness World Records book has just certified their Sun Bowl appearance on December 31, 2008 as the world's largest YMCA dance with over 40,000 fans "doing the YMCA moves" while the group performed. Now in their third decade, Village People continue to tour the world with a high energy show performing their hits from the disco era.
This performance is generously sponsored by Dr. and Mrs. Steven Palumbo.
