Experience the sizzlin', smokin' strings of
Mark O'Connor's "Hot Swing" (featuring
Frank Vignola and
Julian Lange) on August 6 at 8:30 p.m. When at
Carnegie Hall, he is known as a violin virtuoso. In Nashville, he is just one hot fiddler! O'Connor can do it all. Joined by Vignola and Lange, O'Connor's "Hot Swing" is sure to be a truly "electric" evening, celebrating the acoustic string with blazing musical gymnastics. Tickets are $60, $50, $40.
The finest soul, jazz combo of all time, The Jazz Crusaders, (featuring
Joe Sample,
Wilton Felder and
Wayne Henderson) will perform on August 15 at 8:30 p.m. Taking us on a magical trip to jazz heaven, Joe, Wilton and Wayne will reunite as the
Jazz Crusaders, for the first time since 1974. Their performance will pay homage to their rich musical catalog, showcasing why they remain an iconic ensemble four decades later. With their unique pairing of R&B, gospel, "juke joint" and jazz, the Crusaders have a style of their own. While firmly rooted in jazz, they still know how to write a melody and make people dance. These jazz giants will show us to how do it right! Tickets are $125, $100, $75.

In a tribute to
Duke Ellington,
John Pizzarelli will perform on September 3 at 8:30 p.m. A multi-talented guitarist, vocalist and bandleader, Pizzarelli is internationally known for classic standards, late-night ballads and the cool jazz flavor he brings to his music. His extraordinary talents are only matched by his wry humor, quick wit and playful, easygoing manner. On this return visit to the WHBPAC, Pizzarelli brings his signature style to the swinging music of the great Duke Ellington. Generously sponsored in part by
Mrs. Robert Allen. Tickets are $80, $65, $50.
Hugh Masekela will perform on October 17 at 8 p.m. When "world music" was still just a concept, a young trumpet player emerged from apartheid South Africa and landed alongside some of America's musical icons - Louis Armstrong,
Harry Belafonte, Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis - all of whom took him under their wings. With his vibrant trumpet and flugelhorn solos, Hugh has been featured on pop, R&B, disco, Afro-pop and jazz recordings ever since. Maybe best known for his global hit, "Grazing in the Grass," Masekela is a musician of great warmth, charisma and grace, as well as a golden talent. He connects with his audiences and believes, "You gotta' make them feel good!" Tickets are $70, $55, $40.
Tickets can be purchased three ways: Go to
www.whbpac.org, Box Office at 631-288-1500, or at 76 Main Street, Westhampton Beach, (seven days a week, 12 noon to 8 p.m., and later on show nights).
