New York - Buckyballs are 216 powerful Rare Earth magnets inspired and named after famous architect, Buckminster Fuller. Buckyballs are fun for men, women, and children (aged 13 and up, of course) and are already being compared to desk toys of yore like Newton's Cradle, Rubik's Cube, and The Zen Garden.
The brainchild of New York personality and blogger of all things fun at Zoomdoggle.com, Jake Bronstein, Buckyballs came about when Bronstein posted a mock infomercial for the then fictitious magnetic toy from the kitchen of his Brooklyn apartment. Five months and 100,000 units later, these little silver balls continue to gain momentum and popularity.
"The idea is simple and huge at the same time. Buckyballs' infinite possibilities and formations are addictive and inspiring. At a time when business is especially stressful, Buckyballs are the perfect distraction," says Bronstein.
And the product is toying with everyone. BuckyBalls retail for $29.95 and can be purchased beginning in October at hundreds of retailers nationwide, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
