Do you find that after completing a piece of artwork, the subject matter often evokes love or passion? Don’t miss your chance to participate in karyn mannix contemporary’s 16th Annual Love & Passion Show.
“I am bringing this back to Springs, where is all began 16 years ago,” Karyn Mannix of karyn mannix contemporary shared.
Mannix, who is currently holding an open call for artists – including writers, poets, and musicians – is looking for works that embrace this year’s theme, Wonderlust.
“This will be a full blown version of Love & Passion with music and LOVE LETTER readings,” Mannix noted.
The 2020 Love & Passion exhibition will take place at Ashawagh Hall (780 Springs Fireplace Road, East Hampton) on Saturday, January 25 and Sunday, January 26. A Wine Reception will be held on Saturday, January 25 from 4 to 8 p.m., while the love letter reading will be held on Sunday, January 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The afternoon will include an open mic where poems, songs and short stories will regale attendees.
All Love & Passion submissions must bear in mind the exhibition’s theme. Pieces may be no larger than 36″ tall, 24″ wide. Accepted mediums include paintings, photography, mixed media and sculpture. If selected to be in the show, drop off will take place on Thursday, January 23 and Friday, January 24. There is a $35 entry fee for one image, $50 for two, and $65 for three, as well as 25 percent sales commission.
Writers, poets and musicians interested in taking part in the open mic should contact Mannix.
