On Saturday, August 22nd, the Dorian Grey Gallery will debut “Hampton Hoods,” an exhibition and auction to benefit the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center. The art project’s centerpiece is a hand painted GT3 Porsche hood by esteemed New York City artist BTA (aka Billy The Artist), with finishing touches by automotive visionary JoeMAC.
“The exhibition is a multi faceted collaboration between the important street artists that the Dorian Grey Gallery works with and the luxury automotive community,” noted Christopher Pusey, Dorian Grey Gallery co-owner. “Collectors of fine automobiles and works of art share a passion for beauty and the gallery has created a fusion for these collaborations.”
The exhibit will also feature original works of art and hoods from artists including Lady AIKO, Cope2, Layercake, LA2, JoeMAC, Jake Nelson, Tim Bessell and BTA. Porsche of Southampton sponsored and donated the GT3 hood that BTA used to created a one-of-kind “entertainment themed” piece, which will be auctioned off via www.charitybuzz.com in support of WHBPAC.
“Together with our project partner Joe Lapadula (Joe MAC) of Martino Auto Concepts, we have assembled some of the most creative artists on the street art scene to create unique works of art on the finest cars and vehicle accessories in the world,” shared Pusey. “This exhibition represents the latest chapter in our on going series to bring these 2 worlds closer together.”
The Porsche GT3 hood will be on display at the Westhampton-based gallery until conclusion of auction on Sunday, September 6th.
