On Thursday, January 8th at 12 p.m., Steven and William Ladd
will lead Parrish Art Museum's lunchtime lecture series, Brain Food. The discussion will cover how the Ladd brothers' involvement in the East End community through the interactive Scrollathon project has impacted their artistic process. "The Parrish's Brain Food series, where attendees enjoy their lunch together in a casual setting while learning about art, is a fitting platform for the Ladds's welcoming spirit and participatory nature," noted Grover.
Brain Food will also feature a special preview of The Parrish Scrollathon,
the Ladd brothers' upcoming documentary about their residency at the Museum. The film showcases the artists' creative workshops with nearly 1,100 East End students and residents, which culminates in a colossal scrolled landscape, The 1960s TV Dinner.
The astonishing piece was fashioned in the typical artistic styling of the Ladd brothers and will be showcased as part of the upcoming 2015 Student Exhibition. Brain Food attendees will have an exclusive chance to preview the collaborative scrolled landscape, as the Ladd brothers will use it to demonstrate their collaborative processes and techniques.
Attendees are invited to enjoy lunch in the Lichtenstein Theater during the talk, which they can either bring or purchase from The Golden Pear
Café at the Museum. Admission is free for members and $10 for non-members.
William and Steven Ladd
have been in residence at the Museum since November and their exhibition, Steven and William Ladd: Mary Queen of the Universe,
is on view through Monday, January 19th.
