The Retreat, the East End's only non-profit domestic violence shelter, is presenting the opening reception of their 6th Annual Hamptons Juried Art Show on Saturday, November 29, 2014. From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the creative work of the top 25 chosen artists will be featured in a group show at the Richard J. Demato Fine Arts Gallery in Sag Harbor. The exhibit will be on view for approximately four weeks.

"The Juried Art Show is a unique way to honor artistic talents in a way that generates funds to help abused women and children in our local community," noted Maggie Goldfarb, The Retreat's Director of Development. "Victims here urgently need the services we provide."

In the past, the show succeeded in raising awareness for both the shelter and the artists and, in some cases, resulted in national exposure for the artists. Previous submissions have notably represented a variety of artistic talent, including photography, painting, mixed media, graphics, drawing, 2D, 3D and sculpture, from across the country and abroad.

"I am thrilled to give to this kind of cause," Mary Chiaramonte, a winner from last year's show, said. "I care for these women and I am so pleased to lend a helping hand in this way."

During the opening reception, judges Christina Strassfield, curator at Guild Hall in East Hampton, and Janet Goleas, former curator at the Islip Art Museum, will announce the "best in show," the top three artists, who will be featured in a separate group exhibition at the gallery.

The Richard J. Demato Fine Arts Gallery is located at 90 Main Street in Sag Harbor. For more information, visit www.hamptonsjuriedartshow.com.

Hampton Luxury Liner
Hampton Luxury Liner was started in 2000 as a more luxurious way to travel from NYC to the Hamptons and back. The clientele quickly grew and over the years Hampton Luxury liner became the preferred method of transportation to the Hamptons and NYC for many living in NYC and the Hamptons that wanted a comfortable and affordable way to travel back and forth. In 2009, HLL was taken over by Classic Coach and things with the liner didnít change to much for years and the owner there changed the buses to Prevost as opposed to Mercedes Setra Top Class Coaches that have always been a signature of the liner.
