Throughout the month of November, the Tripoli Gallery is presenting Poetics of Space, a two-man show which combines the art of sculpture with detailed paintings and mixed media works. The artists, Michael Chiarello and Jonathan Beer, pride themselves in portraying space, balance and poetics in their pieces through realist and abstract art.
Chiarello, an East Hampton local, received his BFA from Maryland Institute and College of Art in 2001, and has been exhibiting his work with Tripoli Gallery since 2011. He has been featured locally as well as across the Northeast. In his featured steal sculptures, Chiarello was able to transform basic lines into art forms possessing both positive and negative pace.
Beer, of New Orleans, received his MFA from the New York Academy of Art in 2012 and has been featured in two group shows at Tripoli Gallery in 2013 and 2014. He has exhibited his work at shows in Miami, Georgia, The Netherlands and Lithuania, among others. In his featured mixed media works, he goes beyond tradition by challenging space within 2-dimensional canvases by constructing and deconstructing pathways throughout the picture plane.
The exhibit, Poetics of Space, will be open to the public from Saturday, November 1, 2014 through Monday, November 24, 2014.
