The Drawing Room will be debuting a long-awaited collaboration this Friday, May 23, 2014, lasting for a month. The installation showcases Toni Ross' hand-built stoneware sculpture juxtapose silver gelatin photographs by Jean Pagliuso. In 2009, the recently acquainted friends embarked on a plan to travel Egypt the following year. Their mutual passion for artifacts and archeological sites of ancient civilizations inspired another spontaneous trip to Burma soon after their adventures in Egypt. Their shared fascination of ancient civilizations fostered the unique friendship and this exhibition at The Drawing Room.

Jean Pagliuso has been photographing temples and ancient architecture for twenty years to add to her Fragile Remains series. Her process of printing in her own darkroom on translucent paper brushed with silver emulsion produces the beautiful and delicate images, which evoke the dawn of photography as well as the majesty and vulnerability of ancient sites worldwide. Toni Ross' clay towers and cubic structures are inspired by ceremonial containers she finds at archaeological sites. Ross builds her sculptures through coil construction, an ancient technique for utilitarian and ritual vessels.

The Drawing Room is located at 66 Newtown Lane in East Hampton, NY. For more information, visit www.drawingroom-gallery.com.

Hampton Luxury Liner
Hampton Luxury Liner was started in 2000 as a more luxurious way to travel from NYC to the Hamptons and back. The clientele quickly grew and over the years Hampton Luxury liner became the preferred method of transportation to the Hamptons and NYC for many living in NYC and the Hamptons that wanted a comfortable and affordable way to travel back and forth. In 2009, HLL was taken over by Classic Coach and things with the liner didn’t change to much for years and the owner there changed the buses to Prevost as opposed to Mercedes Setra Top Class Coaches that have always been a signature of the liner.
