The captivating drawing features a child wearing a hooded jacket and frowning while holding onto a chain link fence. The piece was selected from among 25 entries by jurors which included Kathryn Markel
, owner of the art gallery Kathryn Markel Fine Arts
and Christina Mossaides Strassfield
, Museum Director / Chief Curator of Guild Hall
Martone's work will appear in a solo exhibit titled "Hope's Journey," at the Richard J. Demato Fine Arts Gallery
. An opening reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 27. The exhibition will be on display through Thursday, May 9, 2013. Proceeds from sales of art in connection with the Juried Art Show will benefit The Retreat, who support local victims of domestic violence.
