Sag Harbor -
Lynn Matsuoka will have an exhibition of equestrian drawings, paintings and prints that celebrate the spirit of the Hampton Classic, as well as her Hampton Classic tee-shirts, Dragon silk scarves and a painting celebrating Derek Jeter's 3,000th hit on view at the Delaney Cooke Gallery (17 Madison Street, Sag Harbor), from September 1 through September 5, 2011. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There will be an Opening Reception held on Saturday, September 3, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., catered by Sag Harbor's Sen Restaurant. The exhibition is co-hosted by New York Smash. A portion of proceeds will be donated to Japan Help Line for survivors of the Tsunami.
Matsuoka set out to depict the particular beauty of performers who devote their lives to an all-encompassing craft, capturing the nuances of the world they create in the process. This award-winning artist has also worked with Native Americans, Ballet, Equestrian Events, Film, Hula Dancing, Major League Baseball, Musicians, the NFL, and Theater. She documented the Watergate hearings for ABC and CBS before moving to Japan and the Greenville/Ehime Maru tragedy at Pearl Harbor years later for all the networks.
