Southampton - Artist Michael Paraskevas will have an Opening Reception on Saturday, May 14, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for his Paintings and Illustrations, which are on exhibit at 4 North Main Street Gallery. The exhibit will run from May 6 through May 31. The gallery is open everyday from 12 noon to 6 p.m., or call 516-848-3553 for an appointment and additional information.

Paraskevas is one of the country's most respected illustrators. His work has been published in most of the leading magazines, Time, Town and Country, Sport Illustrated and The New York Times, among others.

In 1992 he started to collaborate with his mother on what was to become a remarkable run of publishing: 22 children's books over the course of the next 18 years. Their biggest success came when Nickelodeon agreed to take "Maggie and the Ferocious Beast" into the world of animation. Betty and Michael produced and wrote 39 half hours of animation that is still running all around the world.

His beach paints grace the walls of many homeowners along Dune Road.

A collection of his paintings and book illustration, along with a special edition print of his new iPad drawings will be on view and for sale at 4 North Main Gallery in Southampton for the month of May.
