Sag Harbor - During the month of May, the
Crazy Monkey Gallery will feature the work of three of the art cooperative's member artists in an exhibition titled "Magical Landscapes."
Joyce Silver's artwork includes many subjects, from figurative, landscapes, animal and nature studies to Judaica. Her work spans the gamut between realism and abstraction, with strong color and bold designs, creating distortion of space and form. She has received her BFA from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque and graduated from Cooper Union, New York. She has exhibited widely in New York City and in the East End of Long Island, and her artwork can be found in private collections both in the USA and in Europe.
Beth Barry was born in Massachusetts and studied painting at Connecticut College and at Pratt Institute in New York. Her extensive studies in art therapy led her to her choice of a career - she has been in private practice as a psychotherapist for over 25 years. Throughout the years, she has continued painting, creating dreamy, abstract landscapes in vivid, clear colors. She has exhibited in New York City, Massachusetts, East Hampton and Amagansett.
In
Barbara Bilotta's own words: "I believe the language of form remains the key to unlocking the magic of art." Barbara was born in New York and attended the Stony Brook University Arts Program. She considers herself an abstract impressionist, using the flow of colors and their relationship to trigger the imagination. Her work has been described as vibrant, passionate and energetic. She now dedicates herself solely to her work throughout various galleries and art festivals nationally. She is the owner of Tekla Fine Art, LLC, and shares her time between Long Island and Miami.
The exhibition will be on view from May 6 to May 30, 2011. Reception will be held on Saturday, May 7, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
